Alight was a fire art installation piece we built at Burning Man 2023 (aka the "Mudpocalypse"!). It was a 35' wooden structure modeled after a traditional Japanese bridge on the ground of the Huntington Library in Los Angeles. The bridge was engineered to look as if it was being lifted by a flock of birds - while also being safe to climb on, wind safe to 70MPH, night safe, etc.

Prior to burning, the bridge became a social gathering spot night and day, and hosted several weddings!

Three photos of Alight. On the left, the brige in silhouetted against a blue sky at sunset. The bridge casts a long shadow on the dusty ground towards the camera. In the middle, the bridge burning. It is almost completely enveloped in huge orange flames. On the right, the bridge lit up at night, barely visible through a Burning Man dust storm. The dust creates an atmospheric glow around the bridge.
